Privacy Policy

Effective and last updated: August 10, 2026

In short: CareOne uses the information needed to create accounts, show caregiver and provider profiles, match people with caregiving jobs, support applications and messaging, send requested notifications, protect the service, and improve reliability. We do not sell personal information.

This Privacy Policy explains how KG Labs ("CareOne," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information when you use the CareOne mobile applications, website, and related services (together, the "Services").

Apps covered. This policy covers the CareOne app for iPhone and iPad distributed through the Apple App Store (bundle identifier com.kglabs.careone) and the CareOne Android app distributed through Google Play (package name com.kglabs.careone).

1. Information we collect

Account and contact information

We may collect your name, email address, phone number, profile photo, user role (such as caregiver or provider), account identifier, and authentication information. Passwords are handled by our authentication provider and are not visible to other CareOne users.

Sign-in information

You may sign in with email and password, Sign in with Apple, or Sign in with Google. When you use Apple or Google, that provider may give us an account identifier and information you authorize, such as your name, email address, and profile photo. If you use Apple's Hide My Email feature, we may receive an Apple private relay address instead of your personal email address.

Profile and professional information

Depending on your account type, we may collect profile details such as a biography, skills, services, work experience, education, credentials, certifications, availability, preferences, employer or organization information, references, and documents or images you choose to upload.

Location information

CareOne uses location information to show relevant jobs and caregivers. The app primarily asks for a ZIP code and derives the corresponding city and state for matching. We may also process a city, state, service area, travel radius, or job address that you enter. CareOne does not use continuous or background location tracking. If a version of the app offers optional nearby matching using device location, the app will request platform permission before accessing it.

Job, application, and communications information

We collect information created through the Services, including job postings, pay ranges, schedules, care needs described in a posting, saved jobs, applications, application status, interview details, messages, conversation metadata, and photos or documents you attach. Other participants in a job, application, or conversation can see the information you choose to share with them.

Payment-related information

If payment features are available, we may store limited payment-method metadata such as card brand, last four digits, and expiration date, along with transaction or subscription status. Full card numbers and security codes are handled by the applicable payment processor and are not stored by CareOne.

Device, diagnostics, and usage information

We and our service providers may collect device and app identifiers, push-notification tokens, app version, operating system, general device information, IP address, product interactions, session events, crash reports, performance diagnostics, and error logs. We use this information to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the Services.

2. How we collect information

We collect information:

  • Directly from you when you register, create a profile, post or apply for a job, send a message, upload content, adjust preferences, or contact support.
  • Automatically when the app communicates with our systems, sends a push token, or reports usage, diagnostic, crash, or security events.
  • From authentication providers when you choose Sign in with Apple or Sign in with Google.
  • From other users when they interact with you through a posting, application, profile, or conversation.

3. How we use information

We use personal information to:

  • Create, authenticate, maintain, and support accounts.
  • Display profiles, job postings, and applications to relevant users.
  • Match caregivers and providers using criteria such as ZIP code, service area, skills, availability, and preferences.
  • Enable applications, saved jobs, interviews, messages, and attachments.
  • Send service messages and, with permission where required, push or email notifications about jobs, messages, applications, and account activity.
  • Provide support and respond to account, privacy, safety, or deletion requests.
  • Prevent fraud, abuse, unauthorized access, and violations of our terms or law.
  • Analyze product use, diagnose crashes, monitor performance, and develop or improve features.
  • Comply with legal obligations and protect the rights, safety, and property of CareOne, our users, and others.

4. How we disclose information

We do not sell personal information. We may disclose it in the following circumstances:

Recipient Information and purpose
Other CareOne users Profile, job, application, availability, and communication information needed to connect caregivers and providers. Private messages are available to conversation participants.
Google Firebase and Google Cloud Account, database, file storage, server, push-notification, analytics, crash, performance, and security information used to operate the Services.
Apple and Google Information processed when you use their sign-in services, app distribution, device services, or push-notification systems.
Other vendors Limited information provided to hosting, communications, payment, security, or support vendors acting for us under appropriate restrictions.
Legal and safety recipients Information disclosed when reasonably necessary to comply with law, legal process, or valid government requests; enforce agreements; investigate abuse; or protect rights, property, and safety.
Business transaction recipients Information disclosed in connection with a financing, merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets, subject to applicable law.

Public or shared profile and job information may be visible to other users according to the feature you use. Do not put sensitive health, financial, identity, or other confidential information in a public profile, posting, or message unless it is necessary and appropriate to share.

5. Device permissions and platform controls

CareOne requests access only when a feature needs it. Depending on your device and the feature you choose, these permissions may include:

  • Photos and camera: to select or take a profile image or attach an image to a message.
  • Notifications: to deliver alerts about messages, jobs, applications, interviews, and account activity through Apple Push Notification service or Firebase Cloud Messaging.
  • Location: only if you choose an optional feature that uses device location. ZIP-based matching remains available, and CareOne does not use background location tracking.

You can change these permissions at any time in iOS Settings or Android system settings. You can also adjust available notification preferences inside the CareOne app. Disabling a permission may prevent the related feature from working but will not remove information already submitted to the Services.

6. Data retention and account deletion

We keep personal information while your account is active and as reasonably necessary to provide the Services, resolve disputes, prevent fraud or abuse, maintain security, enforce agreements, and meet legal obligations. Retention periods vary based on the type of information and why it is processed.

You can initiate an account-deletion request in the iOS or Android app by opening Profile → Account settings → Request Account Deletion. You may also use our account and data deletion page or email support@careone.app.

After we verify the request, we will delete or de-identify personal information associated with the account unless retention is required or permitted for legal, security, fraud-prevention, dispute-resolution, or legitimate recordkeeping purposes. Some messages or shared records may remain visible to recipients or be retained in backups for a limited period before routine deletion.

7. Your choices and privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a copy of your personal information; object to or restrict certain processing; or withdraw consent where consent is the basis for processing. You may also have the right to appeal a denied privacy request or contact a privacy regulator.

You can update many account and profile details directly in the app. You can manage device permissions in iOS or Android settings, manage app notifications in CareOne, and use the unsubscribe link in optional marketing emails where provided. Service and security messages may still be sent when necessary to operate your account.

To exercise a privacy right, email support@careone.app. We may ask for information needed to verify your identity and protect the account. Authorized agents may submit a request where permitted by law, subject to verification of their authority.

8. Security and international processing

We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information, including authenticated access and encrypted network connections. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure, so we cannot promise absolute security.

CareOne and its service providers may process information in the United States and other countries where they operate. Privacy laws in those locations may differ from those where you live. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers.

9. Children's privacy

The Services are designed for adults seeking or offering caregiving work and are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.

10. Changes to this policy and contact

We may update this Privacy Policy as the Services or legal requirements change. We will post the revised policy here and update the date above. If a change is material, we may also provide notice in the app or by another appropriate method.
